am I crazy?

Maybe I've been watching too many cartoons. Is it just me, or does Curious George have a cute apartment? I love the blue trim with punches of yellow and the blue and white trellis tablecloth. Now I will admit banana curtains are a little too obvious, but somebody did a wonderful job with this animated set design. Hey, at least somebody went to the trouble to put up the cafe curtains. After all the over the top animated kiddie stuff , I can appreciate a simple graphic look.

this is why I love New Orleans

We had a great brunch today at the most unexpected of places...a coffeehouse. Keep in mind that my crew can be somewhat finicky...I am not naming names, but it's not me or Gabe. So we all left full, satisfied, not overstuffed, or broke. You could go a lifetime in New Orleans without setting foot in a chain restaurant...I love it.

mission #2

This is what we have been doing a lot of lately.
Concentrating...
Gabe is out of school for two weeks, so we are taking the opportunity to do a potty boot camp...only one accident so far...I would say that is fantastic!!! I look forward to the day that the only poop I have to worry about is my own, but I look at these pictures and realize that "Baby Gabe" is no longer. What a privilege to be his momma.

so long FL

For several years, we were the Goodsons in Niceville. Sounds too perfect? Well it was. We now live in New Orleans...far from perfect, but colorful nonetheless. Anyway, our final ties to Florida are now gone...we sold our house! I say house rather than home, because for year we rented it, and had to detach from the home where we had many happy years, and brought home our baby boy. So, this is a happy and poignant conclusion to a wonderful phase of our lives. And for those of you who never came to visit...a photo.

maiden voyage

Its naptime, and I am experimenting with starting a blog to keep family and friends up to date on the goings on with our family. It may serve as a bit of a creative outlet for me as well from time to time, so bear with me as this new venture takes shape. First, a little about the title. It evolved from a nickname once given to me by a hilarious coworker. She called me "Laura belle", which derived from me being quite a southerner. This was later shortened to LB around the office. So, when brainstorming title ideas, this was transformed to el-bee...li'l bee...little bee...little b...little g (for goodson, or gabe, who will be a primary character in this story). So I hope you enjoy. For now a picture...gabe at camp.
